Micro / Mod-Rec / Select

Norpoint Soccer Club and NORPOINT FC is located in the Northeast, Browns Point, and Dash Point areas of Tacoma, Washington. Our Program consists of athletes who play for our Micro, Modified Recreational (MOD/REC) and Select/Premier Soccer programs. Our Club consists of over 800 players and families.

Norpoint Soccer Club strives to create an environment of development and education for both players and coaches. We do this by providing opportunities for developing players in three key programs:

MICRO Program (for those 4 and 5 year olds)
MOD/REC Program (for ages 6 and up)
SELECT/PREMIER Program (for ages 10 and up)

MICRO Program
Norpoint's MICRO soccer program is for boys and girls who are 4-5 years old who want to have fun and get introduced to the game of soccer. Our co-ed MICRO teams practice and play at the field next to NE Tacoma Elementary School and typically consist of 5-6 players on each team. Games are played three to a side (3v3), and there is no goalie. The field and goals are much smaller to allow the young players to fully experience the game. Registration for MICRO soccer typically starts in mid-April for returning players and mid-May for new players.

MOD/REC Program
Norpoint's Modified Recreational (MOD/REC) Soccer is for boys and girls who are ages 6 and up and want to continue their soccer development to advance their recreational soccer skills and/or tryout for select soccer beginning at age 10. Our MOD/REC teams practice and play at the field next to Browns Point Elementary School and typically consist of various team sizes based on age and size of field. Games are played three, four, five, six, nine and eleven to a side also based on age and size of fields. The field and goals are modified (smaller) to allow the players to fully develop their soccer game. Registration for MOD/REC soccer typically starts in mid-April for returning players and mid-May for new players. The MOD/REC season begins in September and typically goes into November.

SELECT/PREMIER Program
Norpoint's SELECT/PREMIER program is for boys and girls who are ages 10 and up and want to experience a more competitive level of soccer. Our SELECT/PREMIER teams practice and play at various fields including the field behind Meeker Middle School. Select teams hold tryouts after State Cup (FEB/MAR) where the coach and other club members have a chance to evaluate and select players for that particular team. SELECT teams do not play in recreational leagues. Instead, they play in District Leagues. PREMIER soccer begins at U13 where SELECT teams can compete in statewide leagues, known as Premier leagues. Registration for SELECT/PREMIER soccer follows tryouts (FEB/MAR). The SELECT/PREMIER season typically begins in March/April and is played year round.
